Review the New 2016 Land Cruiser's Changes

The Land Cruiser, an iconic off-road vehicle that got its start back in 1957, remains one of your top choices among adventure-ready SUVs. Why’s that? It’s because Toyota has honed its skills over the course of nearly seven decades and this year the SUV sees another exciting round of changes.

With its recent updates Land Cruiser is even more capable, safe and tech-savvy. Its robust 381-horsepower V8 engine is now attached to the brand’s first-ever eight-speed automatic transmission. The new gearbox enhances acceleration, making performance more enjoyable on and off road. The eight-speed replaces the previous six-speed from last year and sends power to a full-time four-wheel drive system. Carrying over from last year, a Trailer Towing Package is still standard; it includes an engine oil cooler, connector and sub-wiring harness, and enables the SUV to tow up to 8,100 pounds.

In addition, Land Cruiser’s standard features list gains new Qi wireless phone charging and an updated Entune system with navigation and App Suite; new to Entune are Siri Eyes Free and an enlarged screen (9 inches). A new rear-seat DVD entertainment system has also been added as standard equipment and it features two 10-inch screens.

On the options list, the brand’s all-new Toyota Safety Sense Package is now available. It includes Frontal Collision Mitigation, Frontal Collision Avoidance, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert and Auto High Beams, which work together to provide enhanced safety and peace of mind for passengers. Rear Cross Traffic Alert and a Blind Spot Monitor are newly available this year, as well.

If you’re in the market for a three-row, eight-passenger SUV, come see the 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser in Deerfield Beach! With this year’s new updates, it should be at the top of your wish list.
