RAV4’s got a whole lot going on this year, with the ushering in of two all-new models, an advanced new safety suite, added features and an updated look. Critics are buzzing about all of this year’s changes and for good reason. We’ve got the details you want to know about the SUV’s updates below.

THIS YEAR’S TRIM LINEUP
The 2016 Toyota RAV4 will be on sale soon at Toyota of Deerfield Beach and it’ll be joined by new friends: the all-new gas-powered RAV4 SE, as well as the headline-making new RAV4 XLE Hybrid and Limited Hybrid. Trim levels that carryover from last year include the gas-powered LE, XLE and Limited.

THE NEW RAV4 HYBRID & SE
As you saw above, there are far more models to choose from this year than last. So, how do the newest editions stand out? The SE offers a sportier presence and performance with exclusive features like paddle shifters, a sport-tuned transmission, LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, gauges with red accents and premium SofTex upholstery. The new 2016 RAV4 Hybrid is distinguished by what’s under the hood; it runs on an advanced gas-electric powertrain that offers greater fuel economy and power than models with the standard gas engine. Its mpg estimates are 34 mpg city/31 mpg highway according to the EPA.

TOYOTA SAFETY SENSE (TSS)
RAV4 offers the new Toyota Safety Sense package this year. It’s standard on Limited models and includes lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams and a pre-collision system, which warns drivers if it detects a risky situation and applies the brakes if needed to help prevent or mitigate collisions.

DESIGN UPDATES & ADDED FEATURES
RAV4 looks better than ever with updates including new wheel designs, new front and rear silver skid plate embellishments on select models, and a standard shark fin antenna on all trim levels. Select trims will also show off LED headlights and running lights, along with a standard leather steering wheel on every model but the LE. The interior also gets more soft-touch materials and the cupholder has been redesigned to hold tall coffee mugs with handles. In addition, new options are available this year, including parking sensors and a park assist aid that uses multiple cameras.
