In the Human Rights Campaign’s 2016 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), Toyota earned a perfect score of 100 for its fair-minded workplace policies and practices, which are implemented to promote diversity and LGBT equality.
Over a thousand businesses were evaluated by the HRC and Toyota was one of only 407 that earned a top score in the index. When evaluating companies, the HRC took a look at several criteria, including domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive healthcare benefits, competency programs and engagement with the LGBT community. Across its corporate operations, Toyota has proven that it is dedicated to respecting all individuals for the work they do and the company showed great enthusiasm for receiving an honor from the HRC for its initiatives.
