What's New For the 2019 Toyota Sequoia?

In 2019, the Sequoia gets just enough in the way of upgrades and amenities to keep up with the modern year without losing its signature look and utilitarian appeal. This year's Sequoia has few major changes, due to the fact that it has had a design change in recent years. However, there are more standard features on all four trim levels of the Sequoia, as well as more add-on amenities and packages that you can get to give your SUV a custom look. The Sequoia comes standard with room for eight passengers, but an alternate seating configuration lets you change the second row to have room for seven occupants with two captain's chairs instead. Technology gets an upgrade this year in the form of an infotainment system with standard navigation on some trim levels. Depending on the trim level you get, your Sequoia will have premium amenities like heated leather seats. This year, you have an option of either two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive for a custom driving experience.

2019 Sequoia Trims and Features

There are four trim levels to choose from in this year's Sequoia. The base model is called the SR5. It is followed by the TRD Sport, the Limited, and the high-end Platinum. The SR5 offers a number of enticing amenities, including Toyota's signature safety package, which gives you an array of driver aids that rarely come standard on a base model. LED lights add to the SR5's safety, and they also give its exterior a sharp appearance. This trim level is designed to seat eight passengers, but the second row of seats has a split-folding design and the ability to move independently to maximize space. Parking sensors, which come standard on this trim level, make it much easier to park and reverse.

The SR5 is followed by the TRD Sport, which offers even more in the way of style, luxury, and convenience. This trim builds on its predecessor's amenities with a sport-tuned suspension that makes handling stiffer and more responsive. If you add on the optional sport package, your TRD Sport will gladly go on any off-road adventure you throw its way. This trim level rides on larger 20-inch wheels, and it has a dramatic chrome-accented grille to complete its sporty look. For safety and convenience, the headlights are LED lights with several settings to create custom lighting. The 6.1-inch infotainment display system features Bluetooth and an auxiliary jack. A USB port ensures everyone's electronics stay charged.

The third-highest trim is the Limited. This trim level has a more luxurious cabin with leather-trimmed seats. The liftgate has a hands-free design to make loading and unloading cargo much easier and more convenient. The Limited comes standard with three rows for eight passengers, but you can get an alternate configuration with a seven-seat layout instead.

The top of the line is the Platinum. This trim builds on the others' amenities with leather seats that are heated and ventilated in the front row. A more sophisticated infotainment system that has integrated navigation comes standard. In the backseat, a Blu-Ray disc player with headphones lets everyone tune out and stay entertained on long trips.

The engine can be paired with available 4WD if you choose.
