What's New For the 2020 Toyota Prius?

The 2020 Toyota Prius arrives on the auto scene this year with more standard safety technology and interior amenities than before. Now, the Toyota Prius gets more driver-assist safety aids through the Toyota Safety Sense package of amenities. This comprehensive package includes forward-collision warning, lane-keep assist, and lane departure warning at a minimum. Additional advanced driver-assist aids, including blind-spot monitoring, are standard or available at the higher-level trims.

For the first time, all trim levels of the Prius now also get a standard seven-inch infotainment system that has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Amazon Alexa is included for the first time, too. The Prius also carries over many notable features from the previous model year. This consists of a hushed cabin that keeps noise from even the busiest roads at bay. The Prius also has oversized windows and a large windshield that provide exceptional outward visibility. The Toyota Prius still has an impressive class-leading fuel economy as well.

2020 Toyota Prius Has Abundant Features

The Toyota Prius is produced in six trim levels for the 2020 model year. The base trim is called the L Eco. This trim is well-equipped inside and outfitted with a striking exterior. The L Eco, like its other Prius peers, now gets a standard seven-inch display screen that includes smartphone integration, Amazon Alexa, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. The backseat passengers can also stay connected in the L Eco with the addition of two 2.1A USB charging ports.

Starting with the base trim, you also get several safety amenities, including the Toyota Safety Sense system that has several advanced driver-assist technologies that include forward collision warning and lane departure alert. The base trim gets 15-inch wheels and 15-inch tires.

The LE is the second trim level in the Prius lineup. This trim adds more safety technology, including rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot monitoring. It also has sonar-assisted parking sensors. The XLE is the third trim. This trim features comfortable SoftTex trimmed seating material. It also gets heated front seats. The driver's seat moves in eight ways, while the front passenger's seat moves in four ways. Wireless charging is standard.

The Limited upgrades to larger 17-inch alloy wheels and adaptive auto-leveling headlights on the outside. Inside, it gets a premium JBL audio system and an infotainment system with navigation and a high-resolution display screen. The LE and XLE are both available in all-wheel-drive trims that have electronically-controlled drivetrains.
