2021 Toyota Land Cruiser Exterior

What's New For the 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser?

The Land Cruiser, one of the most iconic Toyota SUVs on the market, gets some moderate changes in 2021. This year, the Land Cruiser's list of paint color choices expands to include two new metallic colors, which are silver and gray. The Land Cruiser has some trim-specific updates, too, primarily to the Heritage Edition, which recently joined the Land Cruiser lineup in 2020.

The Heritage trim gets a more adventurous appearance this year with a cargo roof basket. Like the base model, it now offers maximum seating for eight. However, you can still choose the five-seat capacity that eliminates the third row and provides more cargo capacity. Other highlights are a nine-inch infotainment center and a premium sound system. Leather seats are standard, and perforated seats are added to the Heritage. The Heritage has some stylistic differences that distinguish it from the base Land Cruiser, including vintage badges and exclusive bronze-coated wheels.

What Are the Land Cruiser Trims & Features?

The charismatic Land Cruiser is made in two trims for 2021. The trims carry over from 2020 and include the entry-level Land Cruiser and top-level Heritage trim. The first Land Cruiser is not the least bit basic, providing all the power, comfort, and off-road agility required for your adventures. This Land Cruiser turns heads with LED lighting. It has automatic lights for safety and optimal visibility. Roof rails are standard on this trim level.

The Heritage has minor modifications to its appearance with a black cargo basket on the roof and 18-inch bronze wheels. The two trims have different interiors, too. Eight seats are standard for the base trim, but you can choose to eliminate the third row in the Heritage. Both have a central nine-inch infotainment center with voice control for safety. Bluetooth, audio streaming, satellite radio, and navigation are standard. The Heritage adds a panoramic sunroof, keyless entry, and a heated steering wheel.

A powerful but refined ride is in store for the Land Cruiser. The engine, which is a 5.7L V8 with DOHC technology, creates over 380 HP and 400 LB-FT of torque. The engine is matched to a smooth-shifting automatic transmission. Full-time four-wheel drive with low range gearing is standard.

Which Safety Features Are Available on the Land Cruiser?

Both Land Cruiser trims have the same safety features, including lane-keep assist, lane-sway warning, adaptive cruise control, and pedestrian detection. You can add additional safety features for trailers.
