When one thinks of truck advertisements, a few things immediately come to mind: First, there's capability. We've all seen Toyota Tacoma and Tundra commercials that show off their faculty to haul, tow and perform other heavy-duty tasks with ease. Another common theme is off-road performance, which is often depicted with scenes of pickups scaling rocks and traveling through the backcountry. But, take a journey across the Pacific and truck ads can be very different, which is the case with Toyota's WakuDoki adver-dance-ment. Check out the enclosed video below. It's sure to be the best two minutes of your day!
In the unusual advertisement, a troop of Japanese businessmen are cruising through the jungle in a truck, when one of them suddenly needs to make a stop to relieve himself, so they pull over. If this isn't already strange enough, the group then encounters an anthropomorphic gorilla that joins them in a choreographed dance routine that's set to a catchy custom song. The ad seems to take cues from "Gangnam Style" and 'What Does the Fox Say," and it's just as entertaining. In fact, it's so hilarious and so bizarre that it verges on brilliance, according to AdWeek, who also said you won't be able to look away. Click play to see what their editors were buzzing about.
