The term joyride is given a whole new meaning when Gonzo and Animal play a part in the action, as was seen in the 2014 Toyota Highlander ad that debuted at Super Bowl XLVIII on Feb. 2. Viewers got to tag along for a wild ride as the cute and comical group helped a man unborify his life. If you didn't see the spot during the Big Game, watch it now and learn about its making below. The ad also features actor Terry Crews, star of the award-winning FOX series "Brooklyn Nine-Nine."

Crews' character is an uptight guy leading an average life, but fun swiftly takes over his personality when the Muppets "borrow" his new Toyota Highlander. There's dancing, humorous antics and of course an original Muppets song. Blending Toyota's "Let's Go Places" spirit with Muppets mayhem, the commercial emphasizes that while the new Toyota Highlander provides full-size functionality, it also offers lots of fun when you bring all of your loved ones along  -  or a dozen Muppets and center console loaded with chickens!

The spot not only promotes the launch of the 2014 Highlander, but also the upcoming debut of the film "Muppets Most Wanted," featuring Ty Burrell, Ricky Gervais and Tina Fey. Watch the original 60-second Super Bowl ad, titled "Joyride," to catch up with the Muppets and see the all-new, redesigned Highlander in action. Entering its third generation, the SUV offers updated exterior styling, more premium features, increased cargo volume and room for up to eight passengers, which is up from seven last year.

Local residents are also invited to come test drive the 2014 Highlander at Toyota of Deerfield Beach. We have many in stock and financial incentives are available.
