The 35th Annual Festival of the Arts is coming to Deerfield Beach at the end of the month! Start your New Year out by taking in vibrant paintings, hand-carved sculptures, uniquely constructed jewelry and other stunning artwork in a beautiful beach setting.
Sponsored by the City of Deerfield Beach and the Cultural Committee, the Festival of the Arts is an annual tradition and highly anticipated event for both festival goers and the artists who put their work on display. This year, over 125 artists from all over the country will attend and there will be a juried competition with $4,000 in prize money for winning artists.
Festival guests can purchase one-of-a-kind pieces in a variety of mediums and enjoy live music at several venues, an international food court, and available beer and wine. Additionally, children's activities like face painting will be offered, making the Deerfield Beach Festival of the Arts a fun-filled event that the entire family can enjoy.
The festival takes place Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 24-25, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. south of the Deerfield Beach pier. Complimentary parking will be available at the Cove Shopping Center and free shuttles will provide rides back and forth, or you can enjoy the short walk across the bridge to the event. Shuttles will run from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
A portion of proceeds from the event will be donated to the Cultural Committee's arts scholarship program.
