What's New for the 2018 Toyota RAV4?

The biggest change for the 2018 Toyota RAV4 is the addition of a new trim, the RAV4 Adventure. This new trim is a combination of the XLE's package with the SE's sportier style, but it also gets its own styling design, towing features, and a little more ground clearance from the suspension. The RAV4 Adventure is intended for buyers looking for an SUV that can go off-road and travel. There's also a Cold Weather package that can be added that includes heating for several items.

2018 Toyota RAV4 Trims & Features

The standard 2018 RAV4 has six flavors of trim: LE, XLE, Adventure, SE, Limited, and Platinum. The Hybrid RAV4 comes in three trims: XLE, SE, and Limited. The Hybrid's trims are equivalent to the standard RAV4's trims. The RAV4 LE is the baseline for the crossover, featuring 17-in steel wheels, air conditioning, backup camera, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision warning and automatic steering. The cabin features a driver's seat that's height adjustable, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, a 6.1-in touchscreen interface, and a 6-speaker audio system.

The RAV4 XLE upgrades the LE trim in several ways. The wheels are alloy rather than steel, and the entertainment system includes the Entune Audio Plus package that adds satellite radio, HD Radio, smartphone app navigation system, and other smartphone integrations. The trim also comes with a sunroof, a power liftgate, dual-zone climate control, fog lights, heated mirrors, and a leather steering wheel.

The RAV4 Adventure trim has an enhanced exterior style, 18-in alloy wheels, and a higher suspension that gives the Adventure 6.5 inches of clearance. It also has fender flares, all-weather floor mats, and a home-style electrical outlet in the back. The Cold Weather package adds heated front seats and steering wheel, a power driver's seat, and de-icer to the windshield wipers.

The RAV4 SE is similar to the Adventure. It's alloy wheels are silver instead of black and the suspension is tuned for sport driving. It also includes automatic headlights, keyless start button, and vinyl upholstery. It has advanced safety features like blind spot monitoring and cross-traffic alerts. It also gets the Entune touch screen package.

The RAV4 Limited has everything the SE trim has, minus the higher ground clearance and exterior styling changes. To this is added chrome wheels, a 7-in touchscreen, auto-dimming mirrors, and an integrated Toyota navigation system that's added to the Entune package.

The RAV4 Platinum is an upgrade of the Limited trim. It adds a power liftgate, parking sensors, a stylish exterior, 360-degree parking camera, an upscale interior, and an 11-speaker sound system.
