2020 Tundra Trims and Features

The SR is still the inexpensive entry-level trim, but it comes packed with Toyota's special safety features. The dash holds a helpful dash screen that comes with Entune apps. DoubleMax and CrewMax editions offer big and bigger cabins. Car and Driver reports that, compared to other brands of trucks, the CrewMax has the largest storage area after the seats are folded.

Also affordable, the SR5 now offers more. Owners will appreciate Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as part of the Entune system. This allows drivers to access Google Maps or Apple Maps and stream navigation to the screen. SR5 shoppers can get leather seats on this edition for the first time. Also new, push-button start and a power driver's seat are offered on this trim.

Luxury shoppers may choose the Limited with its handsome leather seats or the 1794 trim with its ultrasuede accents and saddle-brown leather. The rich perforated leathers of the Platinum are finely crafted for longer wear. Toyota Entune with navigation comes with a split-screen display. Doppler Weather overlay and predictive traffic make this a very useful tool for busy travelers.

2020 Toyota Tundra Horsepower

2020 Toyota TundraDeciding that more power is what shoppers want, Toyota has discontinued the 310-horsepower 4.6-liter V8. Now all Tundras have a 5.7-liter V8. Every 2020 driver will command 381 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. According to Car and Driver, the Tundra is now one of the least expensive V8 full-size light-duty trucks you can find.

For trailers, the truck is rated for either 8,800 or 10,200 pounds. Toyota's tow-haul mode gives you extra power for confident take-offs. An integrated trailer brake controller provides better feedback for tandem travel.

As always, the Tundra excels at off-roading. The TRD Pro package adds off-road tires, 18-inch wheels, and skid plates. The fuel tank is larger, allowing for longer off-road adventures. Off-road shock absorbers take the brunt of the bumps.

Toyota Tundra Safety

2020 Toyota TundraThe Tundra continues to be a leader in safety and driver assistance. For one thing, it's the only truck with eight airbags. Furthermore, it has more standard alerts and automation than most rivals.

A lane departure warning and collision warning keep the driver alert to dangers. An autobrake responds to frontal collision dangers and to pedestrians in the road. The truck's special high beams raise and lower automatically. Cruise control adapts to traffic speeds, making travel safer.
