For 2021, Toyota Tacoma gets new options packages: the Trail and Nightshade special edition packages, new safety and technology features, such as Toyota Safety Sense P, and more standard equipment, including a 7-inch touchscreen with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Amazon Alexa.

Which Features Are Available for 2021?

For 2021, Toyota Tacoma comes in six trims: SR, SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, Limited, and TRD Pro. There's a choice of cab configurations: Access Cab and Double Cab. SR is stylish and includes several features, including heated exterior mirrors, a composite bed, 16-inch wheels, a 7-inch touchscreen with Amazon Alexa, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

The SR5 trim adds a larger 8-inch touchscreen, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a locking/unlocking vehicle remote. You can get several options packages, including a Dynamic navigation package (rear parking sensors, a navigation system, only with the V6), Technology package only with the V6 (blind-spot monitoring with rear-traffic alert), and Trail Special Edition (unique seating trim, 120-volt bed outlet, all-terrain tires, only on the Double Cab with V6).

The TRD Sport offers an abundance of features for a mid-range model, such as heated mirrors, a sport-tuned suspension, body-colored fender flares, and a wireless charging pad. The available options packages include Premium Audio and Dynamic Navigation (JBL premium audio system, navigation system), Technology (rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert), Premium Sport (heated front seats, sunroof, and leather upholstery), and Advanced Technology (360-degree camera system) packages.

With the TRD Off-Road, you get an electronic locking rear differential, textured black fender flares, and Bilstein. The available packages for TRD Off-Road are the same as for the TRD Sport. The interior of the Limited trim includes fabulous leather upholstery. Add 18-inch alloy wheels and a silver grille, a navigation system, and a premium JBL audio system. The new Nightshade Special Edition package (includes black exterior styling elements and wheels) is available on the Limited trim.

The TRD Pro is the top trim, and it adds to the TRD Off-Road features list with the off-road camera system, multi-terrain monitor, LED headlights, sunroof, black grille, 16-inch black-painted TRD wheels with all-terrain tires, and leather upholstery.

Featuring Great Performance

The Toyota Tacoma comes with either a four-cylinder or a six-cylinder engine. The four-cylinder engine, which powers the first two trim levels, produces 160 HP and tows 3,500 pounds. The second engine is a more powerful V6, capable of reaching 278 HP, that has a higher towing capacity. You can choose from rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive and manual or automatic transmission.
