What's New For the 2022 Toyota Avalon?
For the 2022 model year, Toyota will no longer offer the high-performance Avalon TRD. Last year's optional four-cylinder powertrain and all-wheel drive have also been removed from the lineup. However, every trim now benefits from a rear-seat reminder system.
2022 Avalon Trims & Features
When checking out the 2022 Toyota Avalon, you'll have three trims to choose from. The entry-level XLE trim is luxurious enough for most people. Toyota's Entune infotainment system remains a big highlight. It features a 9.0-inch touchscreen with a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot and advanced smartphone integration. Heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and satellite radio also come standard.
The leather-appointed Limited trim offers an even more upscale driving experience. It adds ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a 10.0-inch head-up display, and navigation. Music fans will enjoy the Avalon Touring's 14-speaker JBL premium sound system.
Atop the lineup sits the Touring trim. It offers the lineup's most engaging driving experience. A sports-tuned adaptive suspension ensures more agile handling. Aluminum pedals give the cabin a racier atmosphere.
2022 Toyota Avalon Horsepower
Every new 2022 Toyota Avalon comes equipped with the same bulletproof powertrain. Under the hood rests Toyota's advanced 3.5-liter, V6 engine. It raises the performance needle with 301 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels through a Direct Shift eight-speed automatic transmission.
Toyota Avalon Safety
The Avalon remains one of today's most secure full-size sedans. When crash-tested by the NHTSA, it received a five-star overall safety rating. While a traditional rearview camera comes standard, you can opt for a Bird's Eye View Camera with Perimeter Scan. Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ also comes standard. This collection of advanced driving aids includes a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Blind-Spot Monitoring, and Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist. Rear Cross-Traffic Braking is optional on the upper trim levels.
